Its been forever since I last blogged! Izzy has grown so quickly! Shes cruising around furniture, pointing, and calling me Mama (I LOVE IT!!). I cant believe she will be 1 in a little over a month. What an incredible gift she is. Caleb is growing up really fast. Hes no longer a little boy, he is definitely a big boy! He says the funniest things and half the things that come out of his mouth amaze me. This kid is a sponge. I think,"Where did he learn/hear that?!" Although most moms think the same of their kids, I think hes pretty much a genius! =) He starts Pre-K in the fall and thinks he will be riding the big bus to school. He has changed so much since we moved back to San Antonio and for the better. It has been so good for him to be here and around my parents and out of the situation we were in before coming here.

I have a wonderful 4-day weekend due to the ski trip my office is on. Boo. Its been really nice though. I miss being able to stay home with my kids and this has been a wonderful time being home with them. Im cleaning, organizing, and making chili (its so cold outside) while Caleb is at school and Izzy is sleeping. I will miss this when I have to go back to work on Monday. Luckily, Christmas and New Years are coming up and with it, more time off. ;)

Recently, I've been struck with a dilemma. My parents, who care for my kids while I work, are going to be out of the country for a month starting a week from Monday. I have needed to find childcare for the kids but a lack of money has been a huge issue for me. My desire has been to find someone who could come to my home and take care of my kids here. I also preferred that there be no other kids to have to watch so mine can be the focus as they are a handful. Caleb goes to MDO 2 days a week and I needed that person to be able to take and pick him up. We found a sweet lady who can do all this but the cost was just too much for me, almost my entire paycheck for a month. Sooooo, this last Tues., God led someone to give me a check. Such a huge blessing!! I still needed more to be able to pay for this childcare. Today, I checked my mail and received a HUGE check for the remainder of the amount that I need to pay for childcare. God provided the exact amount I need.

God is good, ALL THE TIME!

Isabeau's Half Birthday

Today Isabeau turned 6 months! I cannot believe it. Time truly flies by. What an amazing gift God gave us in her.

My brother and his family were visiting from Oklahoma and we spent the day at the Riverwalk. I have been wanting to get Izzy's ears pierced for quite some time and we decided to do it at the mall today. Aunt Sheila got her ears pierced for her half birthday. She did soooo great. She didnt really like the fact that the lady was trying to keep her still to mark her ears. Then, super quickly, the lady pierced her ears, both in a flash. She cried for about a minute and then all was well. She was just fine and dandy. She really is a great baby! Here are some pics, before and after.

We are finally settled (kinda) here in San Antonio. Its been crazy. Single-parenting is not an easy undertaking and I feel like I am somewhat getting the hang of it. My new job is going well. Its so different going from being a stay-at-home mom to working full-time again outside the home. It sucks missing this time with Isabeau but I am making the best of it. She is growing so much and is the sweetest baby! Caleb was the BEST baby and I was always told the next would be the opposite. WRONG! Isabeau has been an amazing baby and for that I am so grateful, especially with all we have been going through. Caleb is doing great as well. He loves his new MDO and loves going to church Monday and Tuesday nights while I attend Bible studys. They both stay with my mom while I am at work and Caleb loves staying with his "Yaya". She is so great with them and that has made leaving them a bit easier. Here are some pics and an adorable video of Caleb making Izzy laugh. Enjoy!

The time has come! We are moving to San Antonio. I have most of the apartment packed up and ready to go. My father-in-law comes tomorrow to help load up the U-Haul and head out of town on Tuesday. Its bitter sweet. My mother-in-law came by to say goodbye and it was very hard. A lot of tears shed.

I am sad to leave Dallas but very excited about our new future in San Antonio. I will miss all of my dear friends, old and new. My in-laws have been a great support during many crazy times and I will miss them. Luckily, we are only a 4-hour car ride or 45 plane trip up!

Good news-I have an awesome job ready and waiting for me in San Antonio. I will be working front office in a dental office. Its been almost 5 years since I left the dental field and then it was as a dental assistant so this is a very new ballgame for me.

Keep us in your prayers as you will be in ours.

Our computer "broke down" on us so it will be a little bit til I can post some more pictures but they will come soon. Isabeau is growing leaps and bounds! Caleb is an awesome big brother and growing up very fast, too fast.

I picked Isabeau up not long after she ate and she spit up right in my mouth, on my cheek, and all down my shoulder and chest into my bra!!! Nice! This picture doesnt show the extent of the damage as the spitup and my skin are practically the same color but you get the jist.

Isabeau is getting soooo chunky! We are having so much fun with her! She is constantly smiling and cooing. Caleb cant get enough of her either! In the last picture, Caleb is doing what he sees Mama doing all the time, he is nursing his bear "D". It was so funny! He lifted up his shirt, put "D" on his side, and put up to his chest, cracking up the entire time. We tried to tell him that only Mamas feed babies like that but he just kept on. Oh well. ;)

Book Club

I am in a book club and missed the last meeting. Its cool though because I didnt read the book and wasnt really that interested in it. The book we are reading for this next meeting is "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. FABULOUS!!! I loved it and finished it in 3 days. I was so sad that I finished the book so fast. I wanted more! So I just got his first book, "The Kite Runner", in the mail and am so excited to read it!

I was looking online for the recipe for Rice Krispie Treats to make some for Caleb and found this one by sheer luck! So glad I did! It sounds sooooo yummy. I can already feel the fat accumulating on my butt and thighs. Oh well! Let me know if any of you make it.

Sopapilla Cheesecake

3 cans Crescent rolls
3 8 oz packages cream cheese
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 stick butter
2 packages frozen strawberries or other fruit (optional)

Mix cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 2 cups sugar. Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
Line bottom of pan with 1-1/2 cans of Crescent rolls. Smooth cream cheese mixture over rolls. Add your choice of fruit (optional). Cover with 1-1/2 cans remaining Crescent rolls.

Melt 1 stick of butter and pour over last layer of rolls. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon then sprinkle on top.

Bake at 350°F for approximately 30-35 minutes.

Thursday I started to have contractions at around noon. I had been having Braxton-Hicks contractions since Monday and these were different! Around 9 pm they started to get more consistent and painful. By 1:30 am Friday, I woke Josh up and let him know it was time to go. We waited for my mother-in-law to come get Caleb and then we left for the birth center. We got there shortly after 3 am and I was dilated to a 6. Man that was good news! I got in the tub and at 5 am, I felt like I may need to push but was not sure so I asked my midwife to check me. I got out of the tub and was dilated to a 9. Since I felt like I needed to push, we stayed in the bed and I pushed. 30 minutes later, Isabeau was born! 7 pounds 8 ounces and 18 3/4 inches long. She has dark hair and has a chubby face! She was born on her due date.

We were unsure how Caleb would take the whole thing but when he saw her his little face lit up and immediately he wanted to hold her. He did not want to let go and was not happy when he had to give her up to Grandma. He is so happy to be a big brother and he will be the best!

I am so glad that it went so quickly. It was very hard, very hard. I think I gave Josh, Jessica, and the midwife quite a few laughs. All in all though, I got a beautiful baby girl and what they say about forgetting the pain when they are born is pretty much true. I dont think I will forget the pain, but it paled in comparison when my beautiful little girl finally came. Here are a few pictures and there will be plenty more to come.

So sorry you missed it Linds. She decided she wanted to be a timely baby!

I cant believe that 3 years ago last night, Caleb was given to us. He has been the greatest gift that Josh and I have been given second to each other. We are so grateful for the life of this beautiful little boy. He is such a beautiful, sweet, caring, loving boy! Happy Birthday Caleb! We love you and are so thankful and grateful to be your mommy and daddy!

Caleb started his first day of Mothers Day Out at 1st Kids Academy at First Baptist Euless yesterday. We have been wanting to get him into an MDO forever! Now that I am working full time from home, we are able to afford it.
He was so happy to go to school so Monday we went and got him a new backpack and a Spiderman lunchbox. When we got there yesterday he ran right into his class, sat down and started playing. No tears, no goodbye! I am so glad he gets to do this and it will be so good for him. It will be great for me too especially when Isabeau arrives! ;)
He was very sad to leave and did not want to leave his friends. I am so grateful he gets to do this!

New Year

We spent New Years with my sister in law and brother in law and some of their close friends. We had a great time and played a little poker. I won the whopping $35 pot! Woohoo!

Anyways, I dont think I am going to make resolutions this year as I always fail miserably and that never feels good. Instead, my focus will be to strengthen my relationship with the Lord. I feel that if I do that well that the rest of my life will fall into place. I also am going to focus on praying for some specific things I would like to see for 2008.
1. I am really going to focus on praying for my husband. That God would raise him up to be exactly who HE created him to be.
2. To be the best wife that I can be and really learn how to honor my husband, especially when I dont feel like it.
3. To be the best mommy to Caleb and the soon coming Isabeau. Now that I am starting a full time job from home its going to be pretty crazy and I hope to be able to juggle my jobs, especially the most important--mommy!
4. I am going to pray for a second vehicle. Whether that is a new one or for the money to fix Joshs motorcycle. I hope to put Caleb in a MDO program and things will be alot easier for all of us to be able to have a second vehicle.
5. A bigger home. Our lease is up in March and with our growing family we are going to need a bigger home.

I really want to stop stressing about how I am going to fix or accomplish things and beging to trust the Lord to provide ALL of my/our needs.

Anywho, thats my plan for this new year. Happy New Year to all of you and I hope that all your dreams come true and that you are blessed beyond your belief!

Caleb had a great time opening his presents and we loved the many different looks on his face when he saw what they were. He kept saying, "Oh, I love it!" Too cute!
We set up his LeapFrog computer and he really did great for his first time! He also got a Thomas the Train razor so now he can shave with Dada. His train track got a lot of new additions that took up the entire living room! When he got us up this morning he was most excited about his tools. He really loves the workbench and I am so glad we thought of it.

This weekend after returning from our Thanksgiving trip we decided to get a tree and decorate it. I have never had a Christmas tree, my parents dont do Christmas trees. No biggie for me growing up but I have wanted to do it with my family and this is the first year for it. It was so much fun! Caleb loves it! Here are some pics.

I am finally done with my medical transcription course. A little over a year later, I have completed the course and taken the final. What a relief. Right before I took my final I was blessed to find a job with a local MTSO (Medical Transcription Service Operator) and have been working for a few weeks now. Its really perfect for me right now as I am transitioning from school to work. I have plenty of time to do my work and build up my productivity. I have tons of flexibility which is great for this preggo with a crazy 2.5 year old. I am just hoping that by the end of the year/beginning of next year, I can be making enough to really be able to help us out. Anyways, good news for us, especially me! I forgot how much I hated school!!! ;)

We are definitely pregnant! I am 9 weeks today. Its still a tad bit early to tell people but so many know already and we are just too excited to keep our mouths shut. Up until a few months ago Caleb used to sleep in til 9:30 or 10. Then he hit this phase where he was getting up around 7:00 am! Not cool! Im not a morning person and I was really enjoying the fact that he slept in. Well, I thought this would be permanent and not a phase. Thank God it was a phase. He has been consistently sleeping in til 9:30 or later! Yes!!! Josh even had to wake him up this morning shortly before 10 am! Anyways, I am very happy, except I had gotten so used to him waking up early that now I wake up early. Oh well, lots to do!!

So this video has been cancelled due to some violation. The jist of it is that some chic in the audience at a Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert, grabbed Tim McGraws balls! Faith Hill got in her face and told her she better learn some class, and you dont go grabbing someones husbands balls, and how disrepectful she is. It was beautiful! Wish you could have seen it.

For those of us parents that need a little boost of inspiration, my friend sent me this. It's a little long, but worth the read for any parent!

I'm invisible.

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the way
one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and ask to be
taken to the store. Inside I'm thinking, "Can't you see I'm on the phone?"
Obviously not. No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or sweeping
the floor, or even standing on my head in the corner, because no one can see
me at all.

I'm invisible.

Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more: Can you fix this? Can you
tie this? Can you open this?

Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being. I'm a clock
to ask, "What time is it?" I'm a satellite guide to answer, "What number is
the Disney Channel?" I'm a car to order, "Right around 5:30, please."

I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes
that studied history and the mind th at graduated summa cum laude - but now
they had disappeared into the peanut butter, never to be seen again.

She's going … she's going … she's gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating the return of a
friend from England. Janice had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and
she was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in. I was sitting there,
looking around at the others all put together so well. It was hard not to
compare and feel sorry for myself as I looked down at my out-of-style dress;
it was the only thing I could find that was clean. My unwashed hair was
pulled up in a banana clip and I was afraid I could actually smell peanut
butter in it. I was feeling pretty pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a
beautifully wrapped package, and said, "I brought you this."

It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe. I wasn't exactly sure why
she'd given it to me until I read her inscription: "T o Charlotte, with
admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees."

In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And I would discover
what would become for me, four life-changing truths, after which I could
pattern my work:
• No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no record of
their
names.
• These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would never see
finished.
• They made great sacrifices and expected no credit.
• The passion of their building was fueled by their faith that the eyes of
God saw everything.

A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came to visit the
cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman carving a tiny bird
on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and asked the man, "Why are you
spending so much time carving that bird into a beam that will be covered by
the roof? No one will ever see it."

And the workman replied, "Because God sees."

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into place. It was almost
as if I heard God whispering to me, "I see you, Charlotte. I see the
sacrifices you make every day, even when no one around you does. No act of
kindness you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've baked, is
too small for me to notice and smile over. You are building a great
cathedral, but you can't see right now what it will become."

At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction. But it is not a disease
that is erasing my life. It is the cure for the disease of my own
self-centeredness. It is the antidote to my strong, stubborn pride.

I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder. As one of
the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work
on something that their name will never be on. The writer of the book went
so far as to say that no cathedrals could e ver be built in our lifetime
because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree.

When I really think about it, I don't want my son to tell the friend he's
bringing home from college for Thanksgiving, "My mom gets up at 4 in the
morning and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for three
hours and presses all the linens for the table." That would mean I'd built a
shrine or a monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home. And
then, if there is anything more to say to his friend, to add, "You're gonna
love it there."

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're
doing it right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel,
not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the
world by the sacrifices of invisible women.

I was working on my schoolwork when Caleb came to me. Not knowing what he wanted I just gave him a hug. As I started to pat his butt, I realized it was bare! I asked him if he wanted to go potty and he said yes. He peed in the potty and has done it 4 more times today!!! I introduced it to him and after a bit kinda opposed it, so I left it alone. I knew I would know when he was ready and I think he is. Especially since he gets to wear his cool Cars pull-ups and gets a piece of candy! Please pray that this is the beginning of the end to diapers!

Hospital scare!

We just spent 6 hours at Childrens Hospital today with Caleb. Yesterday he got the popcorn kernel removed at his doctors office. Well last night Josh went to check on him before going to bed and poor Caleb was burning up. I checked his temp and it was 102. We gave him Tylenol and figured it might be kinda high because it was so hot in his room. This morning it was down to 100 and he was looking fine and playing like a champ. I laid him down for his nap and he woke up early crying. He was burning up and wheezing! I checked his temp and I stopped at 103.7!! I was freaked! Josh came home and we took him to the hospital. Their computer system went down twice so we were there a loooong time. His temp kept spiking. They took chest x-rays to rule out pneumonia or a popcorn kernel stuck somewhere it shouldnt. The x-rays came out fine and they said he just had a viral infection. No antibiotics needed, thank God. My poor baby! He sounds horrible and can barely talk. Please pray for him!

My parents just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary! They have been through alot, especially with me! I just wanted to post because I think that 29 years is an amazing feat these days in marriage. I am so proud of them!

On another note, Caleb got a popcorn kernel stuck up his nose and we had to take him to the doctor yesterday to get it taken out. What a boy!!! Well we thought that since Josh and I are left-handed that Caleb might be too. Nope, hes a righty! Thats totally fine! What I noticed last week though was that he holds crayons and pencils the right way, the way we hold it! Heres some pics. Probably not a world record but Im impressed. What do I know tho?!

Recently we converted Calebs crib to a toddler bed. Well shortly after he figured out he could get out of it. No problem. Well then he started waking up at 7:00, 7:30 AM!!! He used to get up around 9 or 10. Im dying!! I did notice that his second molars are coming in on the bottom. So I wonder if that could be it. Im so tired. Im a night owl so going to bed early is hard, and also Josh gets off around 8. I like to be able to spend some time with him after work and we end up going to bed late. Anyways....any ideas? What do I do? I dont see why being able to get out of his crib makes him get up so early. Could it just be his teeth? AAAHHH!! Good thing hes so cute!!!

Yesterday I, yes I, converted Calebs crib to a toddler bed. Its one of those convertible cribs. We got a guard rail to put up. We were kinda nervous thinking he might fall out but he did great! I cant believe how grown up he is! He will be 2 in 2 weeks and I just cant believe it! Time flies fast! It has been the biggest joy of my life. To create this baby and watch him grow. Being a mother is the biggest blessing in the world and being Calebs mommy is the blessing of a lifetime!

If you have a ton of books, like I do, that you havent read in forever, or dont ever plan to read, or just need to get off your shelf- ck out this site. You can post those books and get credits for posting them. With you credits you can pick out books that others are getting rid of. They notify you if someone wants one of the books you posted and you ship it to them and vice versa. So you only pay shipping but it comes out even bc the books you order are shipped to you at their cost. I think its great and cant wait for my books to come. So I was watching the Everyday Italian on the Food Network and saw this recipe and had to make it. Oh so yummy! I am so proud of myself. I am getting out of the "Hamburger Helper Box". Trying to mix it up a bit. Josh was totally impressed and it actually tasted fantastic! Yeah, so proud of me! Oh, its called Pork with Sweet Onion Marmellata. Mmm mmm good!

He went potty again!

So Caleb was tugging at his pants and I could tell he wanted to try and potty. I sat him on his potty thinking he wanted to poop (because he gave me a few good grunts) and then pee started shooting out. The new potty chair we got him doesnt have a very big shield, so he doesnt fit in it unless he leans forward. I was so excited!! Hes pooped in the potty and now peed! I thought potty training was going to be a nightmare but its pretty fun. So anyways we took the top off his old potty and set it on our toilet to see if he would poop and here are the pics. Too cute!

So last night we decided to make pizzas instead of order out. Josh and Ashton made a SUPER cheezy pizza. Too much cheese if you ask me! I made my favorite pepperoni, mushroom and black olive and it was perfect! It was really fun too. We had a great time! I think it ended up being cheaper too!

I am trying to get motivated to get more school work done throughout the day. I honestly thought I would be done by now or next month, but second half of the course is taking me longer. I had no idea what it would be like, so I am not upset that its taking longer than expected. I am upset that I am not making more time to get it done. The sooner I finish school, the sooner I can start working and contributing to our income. My motivation is big. I want to be able for us to get into a larger duplex or rental home by the time our lease is up in Sept. I also hope to be able to start trying to grow our little family by around that time as well. So anyways, I say all this to motivate myself. I have alot of reasons to push me forward. Please say prayers for me that I will be diligent in my work and be proud of the quality of it.

A few weeks ago at my parents house, Caleb pooped in his potty for the first time! He hasnt done it since, but he does like to take his pants and diaper off and sit on the potty. He did it again today and actually pooped! This is the second time hes pooped on the potty! Never thought Id get so crazy over POOP! Hopefully he will be potty trained by 2, less than a month to go! Heres a pic of him on the potty.This one is with his Pull-Up on. What a big boy! PS thats chocolate on his mouth. He got a cookie as a treat!

I am so totally infatuated with my son. He is a dream child and I just think he is the cutest thing I have ever laid my eyes on. I am so blessed to be his mommy.

Also, I have never been more in love with his hot daddy. Last year was a very hard time in our marriage and we came close to quitting. I am so glad we didnt and pushed through. The valleys are so tough, but the mountaintops are so awesome! I am a blessed woman!

Womens Ministry Classes

So, we have been attending a new church, Heartland Workd Ministry Church. The pastor, Steve Hill, is from the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, FL. Anywhoo, his wife is starting a Womens Ministry Class that is going to last several weeks. We will be learning from several different women in different aspects of ministry: prayer and intercession, worship, evangelism, missions, etc. I am really excited to go and even more excited that God has brought us to this church. Totally different than our last church and I feel more at home here. I am so excited to learn from these women, especially since I feel that my call is to women and worship. Boy do I have a lot to learn and a long way to go. For you who pray, please pray that 2007 is a year of refreshing and renewal in my relationship with the Lord!
